Course Overview
This three year vocational course offers in-depth technical and creative training in a wide variety of performing arts genres. You will develop your skills in Acting, Singing, Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Pas de Deux and more. On completion of this course you will leave with two qualifications.
Years 1 & 2
In your first and second years, you will study towards an RSL Level 3 Diploma in Creative and Performing Arts. This qualification is equivalent to three A-Levels and is a realistic industry-specific, vocational alternative to Sixth Form and also accrues up to 168 UCAS points.
Years 3
The focus in the third year is to develop industry-specific skills in preparation for further study in performing arts at university level or go onto professional work. On completion of the third year, you will obtain an RSL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performing Arts - equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate (foundation) university degree course.
Entry Requirements
You need to be 16+ to enrol onto this course. We audition everyone who applies. You will need to have passed GCSE English and Mathematics to begin study on this course.
Our Training
Our Performing Arts curriculum is supported by rigorous vocational training. We believe in vocational training because the creative industry is a vocation and we are training students for a profession. Our training is highly practical because we believe in doing and being. We pride ourselves on the personalisation of the training tailored to the needs of each student. This course is delivered by a faculty of industry specialist staff, using our state-of-the-art studios and theatre.
Hours fluctuate between 35-40 hours per week. These hours may increase during production and rehearsal periods.
Productions & Performances
Platinum Students will work on a variety of productions, performances and film shoots as an integral part of the training, aiming to to prepare students for professional life outside of Platinum.
Representing You
Platinum Graduates go onto working in West End shows, UK and International Tours, cruise ships, TV, Film and more.
Facilitated by our on-site Platinum Talent Agency, students are guided to professional opportunities from the first day of their training and until they graduate.
We include elements within the training which are specifically dedicated to career planning, developing professional networks and finding representation that is right for you, so that you are ready to enter the profession by the time you graduate from Platinum Academy.
Looking After You
Platinum Academy understands the importance of Student Welfare. The performing arts industry and the training we offer is intensive and so it is important to support an established pastoral care scheme for students, if needed.

Associated Studies
As part of the training on either course, students will also get to experience at least one Associated Studies short course.
